Remember, there is only ONE BARTENDER CERTIFICATION.
Beware of schools that offer multiple prices, this is just a ploy to upcharge you for something you dont need.
DON'T FALL FOR THE "TRAVEL DEALS"
Know who you're learning from!
Don't be taught bartending by a "personal trainer" ... Come learn from ABC who has been teaching and placing bartenders for 30 years!
Read below a Better Business Bureau Complaint against Raleigh Bartending School on Six Forks Rd, proving that all bartender reviews in the Raleigh area are false. ABC has eight, (that they, RBS posted) and they have 154, I hardly think the gap between competitors could be that high without fraudulent reviews like discussed below.
Complaint Category: Advertisement misrepresented a product
Complaint: RBS engages in bribery to control 3rd party reviews of their services; falsely inflates their "regular" prices; and misrepresents their services. 1. Bribery: RBS bribes its students to leave 5-star feedback on Google. I saw this feedback before signing up and it definitely helped me make my decision to invest a couple hundred dollars in some classes that I was just taking for fun (As did their BBB rating). See attachment: http://www.rbgrafix.com/tmp/rbsbribe.pdf This is the sheet they give you once you pass the final tests. As can be clearly seen in bold letters, they only want you to give 5-star feedback before you can access their job placement services. None of the reviews for RBS on Google can be trusted with any legitimacy. 2. False pricing: I signed up for their "Groupon Deal" where I paid $199.00 Visa card, 7/25/11 for an "$800 value" as advertised on the Groupon page. Yet on their own website it says that tuition is as low as $299. They probably advertised on Groupon a regular price of $800 to get around Groupon's mandate that the customer receive at least 50% off. 3. Misrepresentation: Their advertised "40-hour" class was anything but 40 hours. It was probably closer to 28 hours in reality. Each regular class wrapped up about an hour early with the instructor telling us to start cleaning up around 9 p.m. when the classes were advertised as running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. When there were exams, the classes were even shorter. The amount of time, the instructor, actually spent instructing the class was probably around 5 hours over the duration of the 2-week course.
Complaint Category: Non-delivery of services
Complaint: The business did not deliver for all the services paid for. In the summer of 2010 I paid for a bartending class in cash in full before the start of class. The amount was $649. I bought the professional package which included a mixology course book, certification, lecture and lab (40hrs), job finding assistance, Alcohol Server Training, access to lifetime refresher courses and lectures year round, a free mixology set valued at $75 and admittance to "Captain's List @ $25/hour" which means I'll be called by the school to bartend private parties they find for me at $25/hour. The school failed to deliver on the "Captain's List" and made no attempt to locate parties I could bartend for. They also did not deliver on the free mixology set valued at $75. Months went by without a call from them then I called the school back and asked to know what was going on they told me it was the offseason and that something should come soon. Less than 2 weeks later I got a call from the school to bartend a wedding. I thought something was suspicious that all of a sudden after I make a big deal about it I get exactly what I'm looking for. The wedding was set for a month later so I go out and buy new pants to wear. The day before the wedding I get a suspicious voicemail not from the school saying the whole wedding was off and they don't need a bartender anymore. By now it's Nov. 1st and 5 months have passed since I graduated from the class and they've come to me with 1 failed wedding attempt. I paid an extra $150 for the professional package over the basic package because at $25/hour I knew I could make it back but I can't make it up if I never get the chance to bartend. At this point another 4 months have gone by without a word and I am fed up. They won't give me any parties and they won't give me a refund. I don't have my mixology set. They just took my money and had no intention of delivering on their service. Can they just say and promise anything to make the sale and then pick and choose what they want to honor? That's not right and I'm seeking a refund.
The Raleigh BBB never lowerered there rating of A, which substantiates reports of a flawed BBB reporting system nationwide,
We, ABC have applied with BBB Raleigh numerous times only to recieve false complaints and and a lowered rating. (politics)
